Instructions and Help about Military retirement pay calculator

Hello everyone, hi! I am Shake, welcome back to my channel. To all of my new and old subscribers, thank you so much. I was asked to do a video today on the healthcare benefits beyond the military, specifically the TRICARE program for retirees. And today, I have a special guest with me, my husband Ricky. We are honored to be here with you today. Okay, let's get started and try to explain what TRICARE is. TRICARE is the military retiree program insurance. When you retire, you will go into the retiree insurance program, and as a retiree, you have healthcare options, such as the VA and TRICARE, along with other supplemental insurance options. Now, we have some questions that were sent to us via email. The first question is from Chrissy. Chrissy asks if the VA can bill private healthcare insurance. The answer is yes, the VA has the authority to bill most healthcare insurance for nonservice-connected care for the veteran. Ricky, would you like to explain what nonservice-connected and service-connected are? Certainly! Nonservice-connected refers to disabilities or health issues that were not caused by or related to the veteran's time in the military. On the other hand, service-connected disabilities are approved by the VA and rated on a scale from 10% to 100%, based on the disabilities claimed by the veteran. If your disabilities are service-connected, the VA will provide care for those specific conditions. However, if you have non-service-connected disabilities, meaning you received a zero rating from the VA, you can still go to the VA, but they will not cover those disabilities. Now, when the insurance company pays a portion of the medical expenses, there may still be a remaining balance. In these cases, the insurance company helps to defray the cost.
